Until We Find Them is a 30-minute documentary that sheds light on Mexico’s disappearance crisis through an intimate portrait of Darwin Franco and Dalia Souza, independent journalists covering the issue everyday in Guadalajara. Their investigative work lifts up the voices of families who will stop at nothing to find their loved ones, and details how the government has repeatedly failed to help them in their search.
As reporters with visible profiles, they aren’t naive to the massive risk they take on to tell these stories. Yet despite the horrific stories they investigate everyday, Darwin and Dalia ultimately see journalism as an instrument of peace; a way of communicating hope and preserving memory.
Until We Find Them es un documental de 30 minutos que arroja luz sobre la crisis de las desapariciones en México a través de un retrato íntimo de Darwin Franco y Dalia Souza, periodistas independientes que cubren el tema todos los días en Guadalajara. Su trabajo de investigación levanta las voces de las familias que no se detendrán ante nada para encontrar a sus seres queridos y detalla cómo el gobierno ha fallado repetidamente en ayudarlos en su búsqueda.
Como reporteros con perfiles visibles, no son ingenuos ante el enorme riesgo que asumen al contar estas historias. Sin embargo, a pesar de las historias horribles que investigan todos los días, Darwin y Dalia ven el periodismo como un instrumento de paz; una forma de comunicar esperanza y preservar la memoria.
